With the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, with the assistance of His Grace Gideon Bishop Makarovsky, abbot of the Tithe Monastery of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, the holy monastery will provide for prayer veneration to the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross of the Lord (at the Pirogov Cemetery) — the venerated icon of St. John, Archbishop of Shanghai and San Francis.
In the icon, in addition to a particle of his St. relics there are other unique shrines: the belt of the saint, the cross from the klobuk and part of the coffin.
The holy image will be brought on October 11 to the beginning of the All-Night Vigil at 17:00, the service with the reading of the akathist will be led by the cleric of the Tithe Monastery, Archimandrite Kliment.
On October 12, on the day of the uncovering of the relics of St. John, at 08:00 a festive hierarchical Liturgy will be performed, which will be led by Archbishop Sylvester of Belogorodsk, rector of the KDAiS.
The rector of the community, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, invites everyone to offer prayers to the saint in front of his St. an icon that will be in the church until the next Sunday.
