Bishop Gideon visits the United States of America

With the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, His Grace Gideon Bishop Makarovsky made a trip to the United States of America.

In the city of San Francisco, vladyka Gideon served a panikhida on the 40th day after the departure of Schema-monk Emilian's own father to the Lord, who died at the age of 94.

On July 3, at the invitation of His Eminence Cyril, Archbishop of San Francisco and Western America (Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia), he took part in the divine service on the feast day of St. John, Archbishop of Shanghai and San Francisco the wonderworker.

On July 4, at the invitation of His Eminence Benjamin, Archbishop of San Francisco and Western America (American Orthodox Church), he celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in San Francisco. At the end of the Liturgy, Archbishop Benjamin presented an icon with a particle of the relics of St. Sebastian of San Francisco as a gift to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
