On June 21, 2021, on the feast of the Holy Spirit, Bishop Gideon of Makarov offered up prayers to the Lord at the Divine Liturgy in the church in honor of the Holy Great Martyr Barbara at the Kiev Regional Hospital No. 1.
The Divine Liturgy was led by the governor of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl.
At the end of the service, the rite of glorification of the feast of Pentecost was performed.
The day following the feast of Pentecost is dedicated to a special celebration in honor of the Third Person of the Holy Trinity - the Holy Spirit.
This holiday was established "for the greatness of the Most Holy and Life-Giving Spirit, as one is (from) the Holy and Life-Giving Trinity", in opposition to the teachings of heretics who rejected the Divinity of the Holy Spirit and His consubstantiality with God the Father and the Son of God.Enriching a person with spiritual gifts and growing spiritual fruits in him, the Holy Spirit adorns a person with various virtues, makes him, according to the word of Scripture, a good tree, creating good fruits (Matthew 7:17). Life according to the Holy Spirit is clearly revealed in the fruits of the Spirit, which include, in the words of the Apostle Paul, "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, mercy, faith, meekness, temperance" (Gal. 5: 22-23).
