On August 2, 2021, on the feast day of the Prophet of God Elijah, the vicar of the Monastery of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, His Eminence Gedeon, Bishop of Makarov, offered prayers to the Lord at the Divine Liturgy in the St. Elias Church in Kiev, on the occasion of the feast day.
The Divine Liturgy was presided over by Bishop Sylvester of Belgorod. He was assisted by the Most Reverend Archpastors, the rector of the temple, Archpriest Vitaly Kosovsky, and the clergy of Kiev.
During the service special prayers were offered for God's mercy and stopping the epidemic, as well as for the doctors who were fighting for the lives and health of those sick with coronavirus.
After the service Vladyka Gedeon congratulated Father Vitaly on his 30th anniversary of priesthood and gave him a memento of the miracle-working icon of Our Lady of Vladimir and the Virgin Mary.
