On July 28, the day of memory of Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Duke Vladimir and the Baptism of Kievan Rus, the Tithes Monastery celebrated its patronal feast. The Tithes Monastery is located on the site where the Orthodox faith was born as a state religion. From this holy place, the light of Christ's truth began to spread throughout Russia. At the end of the service, a procession was made to the site of the first cathedral church - the Tithes Cathedral of the Most Holy Theotokos, in which the relics of the holy baptist of Russia with his wife, princess Anna, and Equal-to-the-Apostles, Princess Olga, rested. The place for the construction of the cathedral was not chosen by chance, since the blood of the martyrs of the infant John and his father Theodore was shed here. After the prayer service, a funeral litany was served near the memorial cross in honor of the people of Kiev who died in 1240 from the invasion of Batu Khan. The clergy, the church clergy, and the parishioners of the Church of the Tithes, from 996 to the present day, were commemorated at the litany for the dead.
