Festive service on the day of memory of Anthony of Pechersky

On July 23, 2021, on the day of commemoration of the Monk Anthony of the Caves, the founder of monasticism in Russia, His Eminence Gideon, Bishop Makarovsky, the abbot of the Tithes Monastery of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, took part in a solemn divine service at the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. The Liturgy was led by the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, Onufry, he was accompanied by a host of hierarchs.

After the liturgy, the clergy and believers, led by the primate of the  made a procession to the Near Caves of the monastery, where prayer service to the Monk Anthony of the Caves.  

After the dismissal, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry congratulated the Metropolitan of Boryspil and Brovary, Bishop of Korsun Shevchenko, as well as the Lavra archimandrites, who bear the name of St. Anthony of Pechersk, on the day of the angel. Then the archpastors turned to the clergy and parishioners with words of gratitude for the warm congratulations.
